Why Serzh Sargsyan's Nephew Was Arrested
As it is known, the Investigative Committee has arrested Haik Sargsyan, the younger son of Alexander Sargsyan, the brother of former President Serzh Sargsyan, but no information has been published regarding the grounds for the arrest. This was reported by ArmDaily.am.
Today, the Investigative Committee issued a statement that a criminal case has been initiated regarding mass disturbances that occurred during a rally organized by the "Resistance" movement in front of the Government's 3rd building, under Article 225, parts 1 and 2 of the RA Criminal Code:
- Organizing mass disturbances is punishable by imprisonment for four to ten years.
- Using violence, causing destruction or arson, annihilating or damaging property, using firearms, explosives, or explosive devices, or armed resistance to a representative of authority during mass disturbances is punishable by imprisonment for three to eight years, unless the commission of these acts itself entails stricter liability under other articles of this code.
Within the framework of the criminal case, eight individuals have been arrested. In a conversation with the media, the Investigative Committee confirmed that Haik Sargsyan is one of the aforementioned eight individuals.
