Hagop Mikoyan, the author of the initiative "Littering is Shameful," wrote on his Facebook page: "Day 205, #CleanUpChallenge. While my wife and I were waiting at the eye doctor’s office at the 'Red Hill' Polyclinic, I decided to clean up in front of the clinic. I finished cleaning. Suddenly, a young couple was approaching the entrance of the clinic. The husband threw down his cigarette butt right where I had just cleaned. I didn’t want to insist that he pick it up in front of his pregnant wife. Instead, I asked him to be more careful. I picked up the cigarette remnant with a picker and threw it in the trash. I showed the young man what he could have done.

And this is where the justification started.

- Hey brother, this is total trash anyway. It’s not just me, right?

- Brother, answer for yourself. Why do you replicate bad behavior from others?

- But nothing will change with just me...

- Change will start with you, brother. If you keep your environment clean, those who see you will surely take a cue from you. Because cleanliness is pleasant for everyone.

And here the woman intervened, clearly smarter than her husband.

I had nothing more to say except to wish the young couple good health and a nice day. Of course, the husband was surprised and didn’t understand what was going on, but I am sure the wife will tell him everything.

The day can be considered successful. Since one more person learned that littering in an unplanned place is shameful. And I have once again confirmed that the path I have chosen is the right one and will eventually yield the desired results.
