VIDEO: "They seemed to try to be rude, when there was absolutely no reason for it," Kocharian on police actions

The son of the second president of Armenia, Levon Kocharian, who was detained near the government’s 3rd building, stated in an interview with journalists that there were police officers who were unnecessarily trying to act aggressively when there was absolutely no reason for it.

“One was grabbing from behind, another from the side, and yet another was coming to twist my arm. Perhaps they thought that by doing so their bonuses might increase or they would get a promotion. Even if they had no orders, they believed that by acting in such a manner, someone up top would be pleased. They were clearly using brute force. This time, they did not detain me purely for an administrative violation, but rather for suspicion of hooliganism. They might be trying to initiate a criminal case. This is absurd, it’s emptiness, but perhaps they want to go further into gross violations,” Kocharian noted.
