Forbes Ranks Richest Heirs of Russian Billionaires, Armenian Descendant Takes 14th Place

Forbes magazine has published a ranking of the richest heirs of Russian billionaires, which includes the Armenian descendant Sergey Galitsky's (Harutyunyan) daughter, with a fortune of $3.3 billion.

In 14th place is Polina, daughter of the founder of the Magnit retail chain, born in 1995. She studied at Krasnodar State Gymnasium and, like her parents, graduated from Kuban State University with a degree in economics.

The ranking is topped by Yusuf Alekperov, the only son of major Lukoil shareholder Vagit Alekperov, whose inheritance is estimated at $21.4 billion. In second place are the daughter and son of Andrey Melichenko, founder of Eurochem, with a fortune of $11.35 billion, followed by the heirs of Leonid Mikhelson, co-owner of Sibur and Novatek, also valued at $11.35 billion.

In fourth place are the children of Vladimir Lisin, the main shareholder and chairman of the board of directors of Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works, with each child holding a share worth $8.3 billion. The fifth position is occupied by the son and daughter of Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, each valued at $7.55 billion.

The ranking features a total of 20 families of Russian billionaires, each heir having at least $2.6 billion. According to the magazine, as of April 29, 2022, there were 113 billionaires in Russia, with a combined wealth of $522 billion. Forbes explains that the fortunes of billionaires were distributed exclusively among their legal children.
