UN: It's Too Early to Discuss Peacekeepers in Ukraine
The UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, stated that the idea of a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine is premature, as discussions on the matter require a ceasefire in the country. This was reported by TASS.
“I believe it is still too early to think about any mechanisms as long as there is no cessation of violence,” Lacroix said.
Previously, the majority of Polish residents supported the entry of Polish troops into Ukraine under a peacekeeping mission, provided it is organized through the European Union, NATO, or the UN.
Prior to this, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, announced that Poland officially recognizes Warsaw's territorial claims over Ukraine.
