Decisions Made in Secrecy: Ministry of High-Tech Industry on Satellite
All decisions related to the launch of Armenia's first satellite were made under conditions of secrecy, which is why no preliminary information has been published. The decisions regarding confidentiality were made based on certain considerations.
This was reported by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
The announcement states, "On May 25, 2022, at 22:35, Armenia's first space satellite was launched into Earth's orbit from the spaceport in Cape Canaveral, USA, using a Space-X spacecraft.
All decisions regarding the launch of the first satellite of the Republic of Armenia were made under conditions of secrecy, which is why no preliminary information has been published. The decisions regarding confidentiality were made based on certain considerations.
In the near future, specifically by the end of 2023, a satellite management center and receiving station will be established in the Republic of Armenia, around which a team of experts will be formed. The main functions of the management center include managing the satellite and obtaining space images.
It is planned that the receiving station will also provide satellite data reception and transmission services for other satellite operators.
This was announced today, on May 26, by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
It is worth mentioning that the Minister of High-Tech Industry, Robert Khachatryan, was present at the launch site of the Space-X spacecraft from which Armenia's first space satellite was deployed," reads the announcement published by the ministry.
