Zakharova on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Demarcation
Russia is ready to provide advisory support for the work of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border demarcation commissions. Moscow has the necessary mapping materials at its disposal. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a briefing.
“This was recorded in the statements of the leaders of the three countries at the conclusion of the Sochi summit on November 26, 2021, and has been reiterated multiple times during all communications,” Zakharova said.
According to her, Russia has unique factual potential regarding border demarcation and resolution of border disputes in the post-Soviet space. There are necessary mapping materials available in Moscow. Russian colleagues will be happy to assist their Armenian and Azerbaijani friends with the work of the commission.
“A team of Russian experts has already been formed to provide advisory support,” she added.
