We Hope Brussels Will Help Implement Trilateral Agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh: Zakharova
Moscow expects that Brussels will assist in implementing the trilateral agreements regarding Nagorno-Karabakh rather than engaging in geopolitical games. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, while commenting on the EU's mediation in the resolution of the Artsakh issue.
“Russia's strategic goal is for the South Caucasus to become a zone of stability and prosperity, and to contribute to this process. A comprehensive resolution of relations between Yerevan and Baku is one of the key issues... Russia provides comprehensive support to the partners of Yerevan and Baku in all ways, including the unblocking of transport communications, delimitation of borders, and establishing public dialogue,” she said.
Additionally, Zakharova noted that the Russian side sees persistent attempts by the EU to intervene in the process of implementing agreements at the highest level.
“We hope that Brussels, if it wishes, will help implement them, rather than play geopolitical games,” Zakharova added.
