If You Are Going to Make a Revolution, You Must Reject the System, If You Are a Member of Parliament It Doesn't Work That Way - Edmon Marukyan
The opposition is in a very difficult situation because they have not succeeded in achieving the consolidation they expected within a month, in line with the issues they raised. If they say 'we are being destroyed', then 3 million people should come out and join. If this is just a phrasing to gain power, people feel that and do not go out. This was stated by the Special Representative of Armenia, Edmon Marukyan, on Public TV.
'Realizing that no document will be signed in Brussels, they go out, shouting that we are fighting against signing any document in Brussels. Then when it is not signed, they say, 'see, we said it wouldn't be signed.' They will come back smartly to parliament. The National Assembly is already supposed to go on vacation until mid-August. Their hope is that now they will disperse, summer will come, vacations will pass, and wisely in September they will go back to parliament because no one wants to lose their mandate. If you are going to make a revolution, you must reject the system; if you haven't rejected it, you are part of it, you are a member of that system. It doesn't work that way where you enjoy both pleasures and reject the system at the same time.'
'The people are paying their salaries. Only in Armenia do dollar millionaires and people with SUVs send someone to stop people in the metro, so that poor and middle-class people are delayed at work. They should go to Nagorno-Karabakh and take a settlement, build 50-100 houses in their name; that way they would save that part of Karabakh,' he added.
