Video: Blogger Mika Badalyan Announces His Imminent Arrest
Blogger Mika Badalyan will be arrested. He announced this in a video posted on his Telegram channel. "The court has partially satisfied the prosecutor's request; I have been detained for one month. Now I am going to the Investigative Committee, from where the escort will take me," Badalyan says.
The blogger describes his detention as a political decision without any legal basis. "This is an attempt at political pressure. They are trying to break our protest. But they are gravely mistaken. They cannot break us. Our discontent will only grow stronger; our nation is wise, and we will certainly achieve results," Badalyan states.
It should be recalled that Badalyan was detained on April 22 from Freedom Square and arrested. According to a statement by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, he provided false information on his Telegram page on April 11, claiming that terrorist acts might occur in Armenia to create a state of emergency, despite not having any information about an impending terrorist act.
Notably, Badalyan’s April 11 post stated that “Pashinyan (Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan) is trying to disrupt the Moscow trip on April 19.” According to the blogger, the Prime Minister intends to do this by creating a state of emergency in Armenia, which would involve using the terrorist group “Sasna Tsrer” to potentially carry out terrorist acts in various parts of Armenia.
Badalyan was released on April 24 and announced that the charges against him had been dropped.
