Hambardzum Hakobyan Strikes Down Moldovan Rival at European Championship
In the second round of the European Championship, boxers in the 63.5, 67, and 80 kg weight categories competed. This information was reported by the Armenian Boxing Federation.
“Hambardzum Hakobyan recorded his first victory at the European Championship in a match against Moldovan Dmitri Kosciug. The Armenian athlete celebrated a hard-fought victory. Particularly in the third round, he outperformed his opponent several times, delivering an impressive win and even knocking down the Moldovan competitor,” the statement reads.
On the same day, in the 63.5 kg weight category, Englishman Joseph Tyers triumphed, while in the 67 kg weight category, Hungary's Milan Fodor succeeded. In the 80 kg weight class, victories were achieved by Artem Agiev from Serbia, Kristian Veselinov Nikolov from Bulgaria, Luka Plantich from Croatia, Ivan Sapun from Ukraine, Gradus Krouse from the Netherlands, Nosa Ehiz Ben from Germany, and Alfred Cromwell Comey from Italy.
We remind that tomorrow, on May 25, Armenia will be represented by Raphael Hovhannisyan in the 86 kg weight category, Vaxtang Harutyunyan in the 75 kg category, and Karen Tonakanyan in the 60 kg category.
