Video: Over 2000 People Affected by Sandstorm in Iraq
Over 2000 people have been affected by the most severe sandstorm that has struck Iraq. This information was reported by Al Arabiya television.
According to the report, affected individuals are experiencing respiratory issues and signs of suffocation. Earlier on Monday, it was reported that more than 300 Iraqis sought medical assistance only in Karbala and Najaf.
The sandstorm swept across most of Iraq on Sunday evening. The country's meteorological service has indicated that poor weather conditions will persist for 48 hours.
The day before, authorities declared Monday a non-working day for all public institutions, except health care, security forces, emergency services, and public service-related establishments. Several educational institutions have also canceled exams again, and stock exchanges have been closed.
