Turkey's Position on NATO Expansion Is Not Hostile Towards the Alliance: Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Ankara's stance on NATO's expansion is not hostile towards the alliance. This was reported by RT.

According to him, if Finland and Sweden look into history, they will find that Turkey's fight against the threat coming from the East has significant contributions and importance for these countries.

“Our position on NATO's expansion is based not on hostility towards the alliance, but on our clear stance against terrorism,” Erdogan said in a segment of his address to the nation following a meeting of the Turkish government.

Earlier, the Turkish leader stated that Ankara has not received the expected support from its NATO allies, neither in defense nor in the fight against terrorism.
