Armenia Elected as Member of WHO Main Committee

Within the framework of the 75th World Health Assembly, the Republic of Armenia has been elected as a member of the Main Committee.

Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, who is on a 7-day official visit to Geneva, leads the Armenian delegation. The Main Committee is composed of 25 members.

The committee, in consultation with the Director-General, performs the following functions: it decides the time and place for all plenary sessions, meetings of the main committees, and all committee meetings during the session, determines the agenda for each plenary session, suggests agenda items to the Health Assembly, transfers agenda items between committees as necessary, reports on additions to the agenda, coordinates the work of the main and all committees, schedules the postponement of meetings, and otherwise assists in the orderly conduct of meetings.
