Organizers provided a list consisting only of the names of government MPs; is this their idea of democracy? ARA Vardevanyan, an MP from the "Armenia" faction of the National Assembly, stated today, May 20, at the "Marriott" hotel where the forum on "Armenian Democracy" organized by the Freedom House international organization is currently taking place, regarding the fact that they are not allowed to enter the forum hall.

"In other words, they want to ensure that no dissenting opinions are heard here. Let the people in Sweden and Norway know that this is democracy. We can only get out of this situation through unity and struggle. We don't remember a case where a male MP would pull a female MP by the arm. We did not want this; we did not want our patriotic men to be political prisoners. How can a border-guarding man be a political prisoner? We entered the hotel by the people's demand and also according to the law, but the closer you get to the authorities, the law disappears. Fine, the law disappears, but there is a behavior of Armenian men; there are moral boundaries. Why would an Armenian man pull his colleague Anna Grigoryan by the arm?" Vardevanyan said.

The MPs began to chant: "Fight," "Armenia without Nikol," "shame." It should be noted that journalists were also not allowed to enter the forum hall and cover the event.

Recall that the Freedom House international organization is holding a forum on "Armenian Democracy" at the "Marriott" hotel, where the speech of Nikol Pashinyan is expected, and ambassadors from the EU and the USA, as well as representatives of human rights organizations, are present.
