Pentagon Evaluates Possibility of Sending American Troops to Finland and Sweden

The Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby stated that the possibility of sending American troops to Sweden and Finland is being discussed, but no final decision has been made yet. This was reported by РИА Новости.

"These discussions are ongoing, and we have not reached a final decision yet," he said, responding to requests for comments on the potential deployment of American troops in these countries.

He also added that U.S. authorities support the applications of Sweden and Finland to join NATO and express their willingness to provide assistance in ensuring security during the discussions.

On May 18, Sweden and Finland simultaneously submitted official applications to join NATO.
