Incident Registered on Iran-Azerbaijan Border

An incident has been recorded on the border between Iran and Azerbaijan, during which one Azerbaijani national was killed. This information has been reported by Azerbaijani media, citing the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.

It has been noted that the Azerbaijani citizen attempted to illegally cross the state border with Iran, at which point he was shot dead by Iranian border guards. The incident occurred on May 16, and the body was handed over yesterday.

Azerbaijan has stated that it has contacted the Iranian side to conduct an investigation into the incident and to provide information on the results.
