Igor Khachaturian's Lawyer Still Unable to Meet with His Client

Attorney Mihran Poghosyan noted on his Facebook page: “Since 21:15, I have been at the detention center in Yerevan, but due to technical obstacles created by the prosecuting authority, I am unable to meet with my client Igor Khachaturian.

The reason is that the prosecuting authority is refusing to inform the detention facility about my status as his lawyer. Due to this negligence on the part of the prosecuting authority, Igor Khachaturian is unable to receive legal assistance and cannot prepare his defense for the court session, resulting in a violation of his rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and the Convention.

The Office of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia is also aware of this issue.

P.S. I advise the relevant officials to stop this vendetta and return to normal working conditions.”
