There Is No Need to Be Ashamed of Calling Everything by Its Name: Peskov
In an informational warfare context, it is essential to respond to all attacks, and one cannot remain in a defensive position, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian leader, during the 'New Horizons' marathon, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"You cannot defend yourself; you must respond to all attacks, explain your position, reject falsehoods, and there should be no shame in calling everything by its name, especially in such difficult situations. Where there is a lie, one must speak about the lie, where there is a fraud, it should be named as such. Of course, one should be patient, attentive, educated, and a serious consumer of information," Peskov stated.
Commenting on the wartime situation, the spokesperson noted that Russia's existence irritates Western countries, which are prepared to do anything to prevent the development of the Russian Federation. "Sometimes it seems that Russia's existence irritates the collective West, and they are ready to do anything to hinder us from developing and living as we want," Peskov said.
According to the press secretary of the Russian President, Russia attempted to negotiate new security principles with the West, but they were not particularly heard. "We said that we do not like it when your missiles and cannons approach our borders, we do not like it when you expand NATO, we feel threatened, we asked that you refrain from doing this, we invited you to negotiate new security principles, we asked you to agree on how to live together in peace, we requested that there be no discriminatory measures in economics and trade," Peskov said.
