40-Year-Old Mother of Three Gives Birth to Triplet Boys

On May 16, a new set of triplets was born at the Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics, and Gynecology in Yerevan. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, 40-year-old Lusinē Petrosyan was rushed to the hospital in critical condition by an ambulance from the village of Nerk'in Bazmaberd in Aragatsotn Province, where she delivered three baby boys.

In an interview with the photojournalist, L. Petrosyan said, “Yesterday, I experienced severe pain. The ambulance doctors assisted me on the spot, but my condition was so dire that they transported me to this hospital. After some time, through a Cesarean section, I gave birth to my three boys. While it's true that the babies have some issues, I believe that, by the grace of God, the doctors will ensure my children are healthy. I am grateful to the ambulance doctors who got me here quickly.”

“I am also thankful to the medical staff here, from the doctors to the pediatricians, for their humane treatment and care, which saved both my life and that of my newborns. To be honest, we haven't decided on the children's names yet, but we will have three soldiers in addition to the two I already have. Our family now has five boys and one girl,” she added.

Her husband, 45-year-old Arman Sargsyan, also expressed his gratitude to the doctors and the entire staff, leaving the responsibility of naming the triplets to his wife, stating, “I named our two boys and two girls; I’ll let Lusinē name the triplets.”

The hospital informed the photojournalist that the children would need to remain under their supervision for some time until they recover.
