Starting Date for Online Registration of First Graders Announced

First graders' admission, as in previous years, will this year also take place through online registration. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasian, during a press conference.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that online registration will be carried out through an electronic system and in three phases, which is not a new concept. It was also implemented last year. “We have also made several changes and hope that the issues raised last year will no longer exist,” the Deputy Minister stated, adding that registration will be open for privileged citizens starting June 21. The priority will consider the fact that a sister or brother studying at the same school and a parent’s job situation.

“From July 6, the registration process for first graders will be carried out on a general basis for all schools teaching in Armenian, and a week later, starting July 12, registration will also be conducted for children of foreign citizens, dual citizens, stateless persons, as well as representatives of national minorities in their selected classrooms with instruction in Russian. This regulation also applies to children whose one parent is an Armenian citizen and the other is not,” Andreasian noted.

The Deputy Minister urged parents to check the accuracy of the child's and parent's data on the website stugum.emis.am before registration by entering their public service numbers into the system.
