Intoxicated Woman Driver Attacks Police Officers and Spits Chewing Gum on Them

An extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan on May 14. At around 05:00, officers from the 2nd battalion of the 4th division of the Patrol Service of the Republic of Armenia stopped a Nissan vehicle at the intersection of Terian and Koryuni streets for inspection. They requested the driver's license and the vehicle's technical passport, during which suspicions arose that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

According to Shamshyan.com, the driver, 31-year-old Lusine V., a resident of Yerevan, underwent a sobriety test and was found to be intoxicated. Afterward, the officers informed her that her right to drive would be revoked for one year. Upon hearing this, the woman began to yell profanities at the officers, attacked them, and dealt blows to the police personnel.

During this time, the officers attempted to calm Lusine V., but she continued to shout insults and hit them with her mobile phone. She then spat chewing gum on them.

The officers were forced to transport the intoxicated woman to the central police station, where materials were prepared for the violence against a representative of the authorities. Lusine V. was subsequently presented to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for the centers of Yerevan and Norq-Marash administrative districts. According to G. Shamshyan, the vehicle was moved to a secure area maintained by the Patrol Service, and Lusine V. has been arrested.
