Brutal Incident: Rector of YSPU Reveals Details on Attack Against Ambulance Doctor and Driver

In yet another brutal incident in Yerevan, an ambulance doctor and driver have come under attack, leading to their hospitalization at University Hospital No. 1. This was reported by Armen Muradyan, the rector of Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU), on his Facebook page.

He specifically stated: "Both the doctor and the driver have undergone examination. The doctor's condition is assessed as moderate, while the driver's is considered to be mild. It is unacceptable for a person to raise their hand against a doctor while they are carrying out their professional duties... The strictest punishment and condemnation should be meted out for every case of violence and abuse against medical personnel. Society must reject and condemn such incidents, and we expect law enforcement to apply the full force of the law in these cases. Let us not forget that the moral damage caused by such actions affects not only the doctor but our entire society. Such phenomena create an unhealthy atmosphere of mutual distrust."

Additionally, he mentioned a notable case where Turkish Pasha granted freedom to doctor-poet Ruben Sevak, who saved his daughter's life, although the doctor rejected the offer.
