Abusive, Spitting, Insulting Police Force People to Respond in Kind, Says MP

Abusive, spitting, insulting, and unlawfully behaving police officers are forcing people to respond to them accordingly. This statement was made by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Armenian parliament from the 'I Have Honor' faction, on his Facebook page.

He specifically noted: “For example, why should a citizen respect a police officer or their uniform if they do not deserve to wear a badge or uniform? I personally constantly urge citizens during gatherings and marches not to insult or assault the police. Now, I believe that not all police officers should be viewed on the same level, because there are law-abiding officers within the ranks of the system, but there are also individuals who, along with their superiors, should be removed from uniform and sent to appropriate locations.”

“Vahe Ghazaryan, continue to remain silent, pretend as if you are not present, that you are blind, deaf, or mute. But I will say that this will not help either. Any service rendered to those who betray the homeland is equivalent to betraying the homeland itself. Remember that well.”
