If Armenia Had Approached Russia Correctly, the Situation Would Be Different: Serzh Sargsyan
If Armenia had approached Russia correctly during the 44-day war, the situation today would be completely different. This was stated by the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, in an interview with a French media outlet late last night in France Square, as reported by Sputnik.
“Russia is ready to fulfill its obligations as an ally; however, the leadership of Armenia needs to move in the right direction and not just make verbal statements during the conflict. They must request assistance from Russia in the ways stipulated by the treaty, and Russia will fulfill its obligations. I am confident that if, during the 44-day war, Armenia had approached Russia according to the prescribed procedures, we would be in a completely different situation today,” Sargsyan said.
In response to a question about the future fate of Artsakh, the third President of Armenia stated that Nagorno-Karabakh will never be part of Azerbaijan.
