Avetik Chalabyan Arrested

According to the court's decision, Avetik Chalabyan has been arrested. He will remain in custody for two months.

It is noteworthy that Chalabyan was detained yesterday, on May 13, on suspicion of materially enticing students from the Agricultural University to participate in the opposition rallies. The criminal case was initiated under Article 163, Part 3, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code, which concerns the obstruction of gatherings, forcing participation in a gathering, or materially enticing for the purpose of participation or refusal to participate in a gathering.

A recording regarding this incident was published on May 9, 2022, by one of the news websites, with the title: “1000 drams for each student, the Agricultural University’s administration is urging the student council president to organize participation in opposition rallies for money, offering 1000 drams for each student.”
