Russia Does Not Renounce Meeting Between Putin and Zelensky, Says Peskov
Moscow does not renounce the possibility of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but it is impossible to hold it without preparation. Dmitry Peskov, the President's press secretary, stated this to reporters on Friday, as reported by TASS.
“The position here has not changed in any way; you are well aware of the Russian president’s stance—no one is renouncing the possibility of such a meeting, but it needs to be prepared for,” said the Kremlin spokesman.
Peskov emphasized that the preparation for this meeting must be expressed exclusively through the development of a corresponding document or agreement, which must then be finalized at the highest level.
As for the preparation of such a document, Peskov said there has been no progress in that direction.
“We have already talked about the document, but there is no movement,” he said.
“Our conditions are known; they are clearly articulated and put down on paper. All of this has been conveyed to the Ukrainian side, but there is no response,” concluded the Kremlin spokesman.
