Prime Minister Was Unaware of the Incident: Human Rights Defender on the Pregnant Woman's Accident

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, was initially unaware of the situation surrounding the tragic incident that occurred in the center of Yerevan, which resulted in the death of a 29-year-old pregnant woman. This statement was made by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Kristine Grigoryan, during a conversation with reporters following a government session.

“I inquired, and according to the information presented to me, the Prime Minister was not informed about what had happened. Otherwise, I assure you, he would have stopped the motorcade and approached the victim. If you recall, the motorcade was moving at a very high speed,” Grigoryan stated.

She reiterated that there is no law stipulating that a police officer must not stop and leave the scene of an accident. It is also noted that the driver of the police vehicle escorting Pashinyan, who fatally struck the young pregnant woman, Sona Mnatsakanyan, remains at liberty.
