Pensioners to Receive Certain Discounts: PM Pashinyan on New System

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, announced that the Government plans to implement a new social system under which a percentage of money will be reimbursed to pensioners' bank cards when they make purchases using their banking cards. This was stated by the Prime Minister during a Government meeting, where he mentioned that this system will be introduced soon.

“You are aware that we have already expanded the scope of non-cash pension payments this year, and we will soon introduce the following system: discounts will apply for all pensioners in the Republic when shopping with bank cards. If a pensioner makes a purchase using a bank card, we will implement a discount system that has several very important implications. Firstly, it has purely social significance; secondly, it reduces cash circulation; thirdly, it allows for the analysis of transaction data, which can, in turn, enhance social policy and identify more sensitive areas for the needs of our pensioners,” Pashinyan said.
