Lavrov Details the Situation Surrounding Ukraine
Russia and its CSTO partners are opposed to unilateral actions by the West aimed at undermining trade and logistical connections. This statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov following a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in the capital of Tajikistan.
“We discussed with our Belarusian, Kazakh, and other partners the unilateral actions directed at the destruction of economic, trade, logistical, and transportation links. Everyone emphasized the unacceptable nature of unilateral sanctions that bypass the UN Security Council,” Lavrov told reporters.
According to him, Western countries are attempting to harm cooperative relations within the CIS, CSTO, SCO, and EAEU frameworks by trying to strengthen their own influence in Central Asia. “We discussed the situation in Central Asia, considering the attempts that our Western partners, namely the USA, EU, and NATO, are undertaking in that region,” Lavrov stated.
