Bayramov on Azerbaijan and Armenia Relations
On May 13, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov delivered a speech at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Dushanbe. According to Minval.az, the authoritarian country's minister informed the participants about the post-conflict situation prevailing in our region, noting that the conflict belongs to the past and that our primary task now is to restore the liberated (occupied Armenian) territories, ensure long-term peace and stability, and rebuild economic and communication ties.
According to Bayramov, Azerbaijan is ready to normalize relations with Armenia, including the signing of a peace treaty and the commencement of the border delimitation process. In this regard, steps have been taken towards initiating the negotiation process for a peace agreement, including the appointment of the heads of national commissions for delimitation between the two countries and the determination of the format.
