VIDEO: Fire Breaks Out on Passenger Plane in China, Several Injured

More than 40 people have been injured at the airport in Chongqing, China, due to an incident involving a Tibet Airlines aircraft, according to reports from РИА НОВОСТИ citing a statement from the Jiangbei Airport.

The plane was set to take off from Chongqing to the city of Nyingchi in the Tibet Autonomous Region when it exited the runway and caught fire. There were 113 passengers and 9 crew members on board. The passengers were promptly evacuated.

As a result of the incident, over 40 people sustained minor injuries. No fatalities have been reported, and the causes of the accident remain unclear.

It has been noted that the aircraft had been in operation for 9.5 years. The airport resumed operations 2.5 hours later.
