The Son of MP Gegham Manukyan Arrested

Just now, Taron Manukyan, the son of MP Gegham Manukyan from the "Armenia" parliamentary faction, has been arrested, according to lawyer Abgar Poghosyan on his Facebook page.

“Another illegal decision has been made: Taron Manukyan, a participant in the 44-day war, has been detained. This is another process based on police testimonies,” wrote the lawyer.

Taron Manukyan had been arrested in Gyumri days ago concerning a case of violence against elderly men under Article 129 of the RA Criminal Procedure Code.

Abgar Poghosyan later published Taron Manukyan's appeal on his Facebook page, which stated:

“I, Taron Geghami Manukyan, have repeatedly declared and once again declare that police masked shows, brute force, and prisons will not frighten us. Our kind does not know retreat in battle; we are the first to take up arms, and we fight against injustice. Therefore, I once again call upon all my friends and relatives who know me: never be afraid, do not silence, and do not lose faith. Our strength is in our unity, no matter where we are. We must raise our fists in struggle... we sacrifice for the homeland, and every price is worth paying for this sacred value. It's either death or freedom.”
