Lawyer of Sonya Mnatsakanyan’s Father Comments on Tragic Accident

During the proceedings of the criminal case regarding the death of Sonya Mnatsakanyan, who was struck by the driver accompanying the Prime Minister’s motorcade on April 26, I will be representing the legal interests of her father, Mnatsakan Mnatsakanyan, who is recognized as the victim's heir. This was noted by lawyer Raffi Aslanyan on his Facebook page.

He particularly mentioned: "Today, the investigator in charge of the proceedings decided to involve the driver of the accompanying traffic police vehicle as a suspect under Article 242, Paragraph 2 of the RA Criminal Code (violating requirements aimed at ensuring road safety or violating rules of road traffic or operation of vehicles which negligently caused the death of a person) and Article 244 (leaving the scene of a traffic accident). The driver has again been arrested, and a motion has been submitted to the court for the application of custody as a measure of restraint.

The victim's side will be persistent in revealing the circumstances of Sonya Mnatsakanyan’s brutal accident and abandonment in helpless condition, thus also striving to ensure the inevitable criminal responsibility of all individuals responsible for her death."
