Is the Number One Aircraft Serving the Prime Minister Missing? Aviation Officials Comment
There are reports circulating in the media about the disappearance of the number one aircraft serving the Prime Minister. Factinfo news outlet writes that for about two months now, the government plane serving Nikol Pashinyan, known as number one, has been missing, while the government and the Civil Aviation Authority are refusing to provide information.
Auroranews.am contacted Lilith Aghabekyan, the press assistant to the head of the Civil Aviation Committee. In our conversation, she stated that the number one aircraft serving the Prime Minister has not gone missing, as has been reiterated multiple times; the aircraft is undergoing technical inspection. This process is organized and managed by the State Protection Service of Armenia. The spokesperson assured that the uproar surrounding the topic is unfounded, and there is no reason to be concerned or any unusual circumstances.
When asked where the aircraft is and when the work will be completed, she could not provide a clear answer. “Since the State Protection Service is organizing the technical inspection, more detailed information can be obtained from that service. The technical inspection will be completed very soon, and the government aircraft will return shortly. I am aware that the process is already nearing completion,” added Lilith Aghabekyan.
It should be noted that during April and May, Nikol Pashinyan had two official trips to Russia and then to the Netherlands, during which he used an aircraft belonging to ‘Armenia’ airline. Throughout this time, aircraft number one has been in and continues to be in the technical inspection phase.
