Discrepancies in the Penitentiary Service: "Joghourt"

The newspaper "Joghourt" reports that the State Audit Office conducted investigations at the Ministry of Justice's Penitentiary Service from February 14 to April 30. According to the newspaper, the Audit Office has identified several discrepancies within the Penitentiary Service.

Distortions were noted in the distribution of salaries for workers and assistants in the kitchen and cafeteria, as well as for sentenced individuals working there. These expenses were charged to penitentiary institutions instead of the suppliers designated in the contract, amounting to more than 5.5 million drams.

Additionally, the Audit Office discovered distortions amounting to 4 million 384 thousand drams regarding the 630 kVA transformer, electrical equipment, and installation works at the "Kosh" Penitentiary. The discrepancy regarding the renovation of the roof of the administrative building of the "Armavir" Penitentiary totaled 16 million 516 thousand drams. It has also come to our attention that during 2021, expenses related to water supply and drainage exceeded the established norms.
