Why General Oganovskian Fired at Young People's Car: Tracing the Shots

Details have emerged regarding the gunshots fired by Major General Samvel Karapetyan, former deputy commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, following a dispute between the general and several youths.

Specifically, Samvel Karapetyan parked his car in a location and asked a few young people to move their vehicle slightly to the side. The youths began to speak rudely, saying, 'We will do as we want.' Following this, Karapetyan exited his vehicle to speak with the young people, but the conversation escalated into a quarrel. According to close associates of the general, he lost his temper and fired in the direction of the youths' car merely to frighten them.

It is noted that gunshots were heard around 19:00 on May 10 in Stepanakert's 'Revival' square, resulting in damage to a car belonging to a resident of Stepanakert.

A criminal case has been initiated based on the incident under Article 269, Part 4 (hooliganism committed with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons) and Article 245, Part 1 (acquisition, possession, transportation, or carrying of firearms in an illegal manner) of the Criminal Code.

The prosecutor's office reported that a citizen of the Republic of Artsakh, S.K., suspected of committing the alleged crime, has been arrested; he is the former deputy commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Major General Samvel Karapetyan.
