VIDEO: 'Red Berets' Detain Citizens Standing on Abovyan-Arami Street

Police have blocked the entry of the 'Resistance' movement's car rally to the Republic Square. Lilith Galstyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction, asked a police officer to explain why they were denying their access, stating that they intended to enter the square and continue their rally via Amiryan Street toward France Square, where a public gathering is planned.

The police officer responded, 'The responsibility for ensuring road traffic, public order, and security lies with the police. In this particular situation, the police are also responsible for the safe escort of peaceful rallies. We have a security situation, and therefore we ask that you change the direction of the rally.'

The police urged drivers to remove their vehicles from the traffic area, claiming the gathering was illegal. The Red Berets began detaining participants of the rally.
