VIDEO: Citizens Throw Trash from Above Instead of Disposing It Properly

A Facebook user named "Nana Knar" shared a video from Amiryan Street in Yerevan, commenting: "What kind of communal rules, what kind of ethics? They were hired to take out the trash and not disturb the residents, yet they act like this... Only two people from two multi-apartment buildings responded, the rest quietly watched... #center #amiryann".

In another video published, a man can be seen standing below, collecting the trash and transferring it into a car parked in the area.

Levon Sardarjan, head of the information department at the Yerevan municipality, also addressed the circulating video on his Facebook page, stating: "I remembered a real incident related to garbage being thrown from a building. About fifteen years ago, a Georgian in Moscow decided to refresh his home’s interior. His apartment was on the ninth floor, and he thought the easiest way to bring a couch down was to throw it from above. He checked to see if anyone was in the yard and activated the free-fall mode for the couch. The story would be funny if it didn’t end in tragedy. At that moment, one of the building's residents happened to walk out of the entrance... I wouldn't want to use harsh descriptors, but when filth and degeneracy come together, the result is nearly unavoidable tragedies. I hope the police have already seen the video and are reacting appropriately."
