No Action Taken in the Case of Ararat Mirzoyan's Assault. 'Joghavorud'

«Joghavorud» newspaper reports: It's been 1 year and 5 months since a criminal case has been underway at the NSS concerning the assault on the former president of the National Assembly of Armenia and the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan. However, judging by the situation, the investigative body has no specific information regarding the individuals involved in the case, nor how the strikes were delivered. Moreover, they have yet to locate all participants in the incident.

According to information received by «Joghavorud», on November 10, 2020, a motion was filed with the NSS requesting the cessation of proceedings against the accused, Zhiring Sirikanyan, in relation to the criminal case of violence. However, the NSS rejected the motion.

Reports indicate that Zhiring Sirikanyan has submitted another motion to the investigative body, once again requesting permission to leave the country to engage in the sale of agricultural products and to provide for his family. This request is currently under review at the NSS, and judging by the situation, this motion is also likely to be denied.

It appears that the investigative body has not conducted any investigative actions regarding the individuals involved in the case for an extended period, and the criminal case continues to loom over the defendants like a sword of Damocles. The assailants of Ararat Mirzoyan remain unidentified, and the case is, in essence, being concealed.
