Draw Your Own Conclusions: Lavrov on the Prospects of War in Europe
Russia expects that once Moscow achieves the goals of its special operation in Ukraine, the West will stop promoting a "unipolar world" and violating the principles of the UN Charter. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference following negotiations with Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi on Wednesday, TASS reported.
“We hope and expect that the completion of our military operation, achieving all its goals, will help stop the West's attempts to undermine international law, ignore and grossly violate the principles of the UN Charter, including the principle of the sovereign equality of states, and will force the West to cease this so-called promotion of a 'unipolar world' dominated by the United States and its allies,” said the head of the Russian diplomatic service.
He noted that Moscow absolutely does not want war in Europe, while the West speaks of the necessity to defeat the Russian Federation regarding the situation in Ukraine. “If you are worried about the prospect of war in Europe, we do not want it at all, but I draw your attention to the fact that the West is the one that continuously and stubbornly declares that Russia must be defeated in this situation. Draw your own conclusions,” Lavrov stated.
