Aliyev Announces Permanent Return to Artsakh
The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, visited the city of Shushi in Artsakh with his wife, which is currently under Azerbaijani control following the 44-day war. They examined ongoing construction projects in the city.
Aliyev stated in Shushi that "we have permanently returned to these lands, our native lands, and we will live here forever." It is noteworthy that on November 9, 2020, the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan agreed on the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, signing a statement that transferred seven regions of Artsakh, Shushi, and Hadrut to Azerbaijan, with the exception of one village, as well as villages in the Askeran and Martuni regions, and the villages of Talish and Mataghis in the Martakert region.
