Pashinyan Arrives in the Netherlands

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, arrived in the Kingdom of the Netherlands on May 10. According to a report by Armenpress, the Prime Minister is on a two-day official visit to the Netherlands. This is the first official visit by an Armenian leader to the Netherlands.

Armenia and the Netherlands are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.

At Groningen International Airport, Pashinyan was welcomed by Jetta Klijnsma, the royal commissioner in the province of Drenthe, Mayor of Assen Marco Out, Mayor of Tynaarlo Marcel Thijssen, and the head of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Dominik Kruiling.

The delegation led by the Prime Minister includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Vahram Dumanyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, the Minister of Economy, Vahan Kerobyan, and the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Eduard Aghajanyan.

On May 11, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte.

On May 10, Prime Minister Pashinyan will also attend the official opening ceremony of the exhibition “Under the Shadow of Ararat: Treasures of Ancient Armenia” at the Drents Museum. During his official visit, Nikol Pashinyan will also visit the Peace Palace in The Hague (the headquarters of the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration) and meet with the President of the Senate, Jan Anthony Bruin, and the President of the House of Representatives, Vera Bergkamp, in the Parliament of the Netherlands.
