NSS Operating Under Heavy Workload: Reporting Situation 4 to 5 Times Daily, Says 'Hraparak'

'Hraparak' newspaper reports: 'Especially in recent days, the National Security Service (NSS) has intensified its scrutiny of opposition figures. We previously reported that our media outlet has received information about the deployment of surveillance software targeting opposition figures. This involves the Israeli Pegasus spyware that the authorities are using to eavesdrop on the opposition and others.

The program sends a file in SMS form to the phones of public and political figures, and if the recipient opens the message, the eavesdropping software is mechanically downloaded onto the phone, putting that figure in the crosshairs of the authorities. The phone turns into a device for recording video, audio, and transmitting information.

In recent days, many have found themselves caught in a precarious trap. According to our sources in the NSS, the program has been downloaded onto the phones of more than 80 opposition figures, meaning that the authorities have spent tens of thousands of dollars on eavesdropping efforts. The cost of downloading this software onto a single phone is between $10,000 and $12,000, which is paid to the Israeli company. Additionally, there are reports that the NSS is currently operating under a heavy workload, providing updates to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the situation 4 to 5 times a day.'
