When I Find It Necessary to Engage in Any Political Process, I Will Clearly Announce It: Arman Tatoyan

Recently, various circles of the government have begun a directed campaign against me on social media and fake pages with extreme insults and hatred, stated the former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan.

“It is evident that my name and surname evoke significant fears among many officials in power. Instead of addressing the real governance and solving problems, you are engaged in stirring up trouble. By managing the country through Facebook, you have put an entire nation in distress and placed our statehood and security in real danger.

“You have completely undermined your mission, as you prioritize your positions over the interests and security of the country. I remind the officials of various state and community services who are simply ‘talking the talk’ that you should be focused on your real mission: the defense of the Homeland and the security of the state, as well as improving the conditions of people living in border communities and villages, rather than gathering likes on Facebook pages in your virtual comfort.

For you, I reiterate what I said during my public discussion on April 30: I am engaged in active public work, but I belong to no political party and have no connections with any political forces. When I find it necessary to engage in any political process, I will act independently and clearly announce it. Moreover, I will be guided by the agenda of state security, the rule of law, the guarantee of human rights, the protection of national values, and the restoration of public solidarity,” he noted.
