Negotiations Have Stalled: Italian Foreign Minister on Russian-Ukrainian Conflict
Rome is not providing weapons to Kyiv for Ukraine to strike targets within Russian territory. This was stated by Italy's Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio during an interview on the Rai3 television channel, according to РИА новости.
According to the minister, only defensive weapons are being sent to Ukraine. “We must support Ukraine and its army in organizing the country's self-defense. We will continue to work for world peace. But we are not supplying weapons to Ukraine to strike targets in Russia,” emphasized Di Maio.
The minister also spoke about Rome's efforts to achieve a diplomatic resolution to the conflict. “We need to quickly reach a ceasefire; negotiations have stalled, but we have never ceased our efforts to resume them,” he said.
