Legendary Comic Book Creator George Pérez Passes Away
George Pérez, a renowned comic book writer and illustrator, has passed away at the age of 67 in the United States. Known for his work on series such as 'Wonder Woman' and 'The Avengers,' Pérez died on May 6 after a prolonged battle with illness, as reported by NBC News.
The artist had been diagnosed with stage III pancreatic cancer in December 2021 and had later revealed that doctors had given him between six months to a year to live.
According to a statement from DC Comics, Pérez left an "indelible mark on the comic book world" and influenced "an entire generation of creative talent."
