How to Get the Country Out of This Situation: Sahakyan on Their Plans
The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and member of the opposition "Resistance" movement, Ishkhan Sahakyan, stated during a rally in France that they are often asked what will happen after Nikol and how the new government will pull the country out of this situation.
"To build a strong Armenia, we must first remove them and form a strong government that will ensure the deterrence of Turkish-Azerbaijani external aggression by modernizing the unified security system of Artsakh and Armenia," Sahakyan announced.
According to him, the Armenian government must also guarantee the right to self-determination for Artsakh, excluding any status of Artsakh within Azerbaijan.
"The new government will exclude the provision of a corridor to the hostile country under the guise of unblocking communication routes at the expense of the territory of Armenia. Under the threat and use of force from Azerbaijan, it will not carry out border demarcation and delimitation. It will exclude any agreement in relations with Turkey that would put the reality of the dispossession and genocide of the Armenian people into question, as well as the right to be the bearer of the Armenian spiritual-cultural heritage," he stated.
The opposition figure declared that one of the priorities of the new government will also be the return of Armenian prisoners of war and food security. The issue of a proper personnel policy will not be overlooked.
"Lies, populism, deceit, and incompetence will be completely excluded from state governance. The ministries of agriculture and culture will be restored as a priority, and the state law enforcement system will be restructured," Sahakyan said.
The representative of the "Resistance" movement also promised that after the change of power, national reconciliation would be restored, eliminating internal hatred and division. According to him, the vices of the past and present will have no place in the future.
