New Incident Recorded Between Sos Janibekyan and Opposition Figures
Actor Sos Janibekyan announced on his Facebook page that a new incident has occurred between him and opposition figures. Earlier, there had already been two incidents involving Janibekyan, one where protesters called him a Turk, and another where objects were thrown at him.
Janibekyan's Facebook post is presented below:
“To be honest, I had no desire to comment on everything that is happening to me, to keep it from becoming politicized, as I want to stay away from politics in every way. I ask you to view it as a mere situation and an analysis of human relationships, addressing the organizers and authorities of the protesters.
The incident where I walked towards the protesters, unchanged on my way, and encountered a ratio of one to two thousand shouting, calling me a Turk and throwing bottles at me, okay, I understand it is a result of the feelings of lawlessness arising from crowd euphoria. Similar instances happened to my colleagues during the 2018 revolution, perhaps it was a lesson that karma delivered to me. Life lessons never come too late.
However, yesterday I encountered the protesters again while passing by in my car, listening to the song 'Wake Up Lao'. As I rolled down my window, they yelled 'Turk' at me while quickly speeding away, using the most vulgar sexual expletives. I was thinking, how should I explain to my 3.5-year-old daughter the difference between an aggressive Turk and the Noble Armenian, considering that the car’s interior was Armenian… I think.
A man around 50 turned to me and said, 'Sos, now you’re the Turk; and they are the Armenians, maybe the Turk would be surprised to see what he did.' What I mean is, it’s truly shameful, guys, don’t do it, don’t curse at those who don’t stand with you; don’t call the people the rabble or Turk. There are those who do not support the current government exclusively but do not want to stand with you either. Don’t anger them, do not frighten them; do not compel people to remember the former customs again. Conduct marches with your ideology to unite your like-minded individuals, not to curse those with differing opinions, as this cannot be the prevailing behavior at a demonstration.
...and one question, how is it that behind me protesters yell 'Turk,' and when I get home and open Facebook, I have more than 100 messages received approximately with this content: 'Sos, come join us, stand with us for the Motherland'? Someone might come stand with you whom you consider a Turk. It is incomprehensible and extremely absurd. I wish you all good and peaceful demonstrations. I am sure some of the protesters will read and try to eradicate this flaw. Thank you, love, and peace to your soul.”
