IS Fighters Shell Tajik Armed Forces Positions

Islamic State militants have fired 7 rockets at the positions of Tajikistan's armed forces. This information has been confirmed by the Tajik border service, according to Sputnik Tajikistan.

The rocket launch system was reportedly mounted on a vehicle.

"The soldiers saw a vehicle occupied by terrorists. The car was burned, and three perpetrators were injured, one of whom is in critical condition," a source from Sputnik Tajikistan stated.

According to the source, four rockets landed in the Amudarya River, while three others fell in a nearby forest. At the same time, the agency's interlocutor indicated that the incident is "not serious, and the population does not need to worry."

Later, a source from RIA Novosti specified that the launches originated from the northern Afghan province of Takhar.
